Parents,

Early registration is closed and we already have over 500 kids enrolled in the program but there are still open positions in various leagues available for late registration.  If interested, dont miss out, click on the registration tab and make sure you enroll before late registration closes in early July 2009.  There are only a few weeks left!  We currently plan to hold our draft in mid July so that jerseys for all children enrolled can be ordered no later than August 1, 2009.

Those parents that have offered to coach as part of their child's registration will be notified immediately after late registration closes and coach pairings are finalized so that each league's draft can be held shortly thereafter.  Those folks interested in refereeing, whether they be child or child parent teams, please contact Mike Connelly directly for more information.  His contact information is listed on the contact page.

Regarding league needs, we are still looking for volunteers to chair (possibly home and school moms) our year end championship day to be held the weekend before Thanksgiving.   If interested, please email me at   Thanks

Parents,

I have received several questions so i just wanted to provide a few updates regarding those questions in regard to registration this year:

1)  Coaching - As always, we are looking for parents to contribute to the volunteer program that has been established if their time permits and they are dedicated to providing a fun environment for the kids to play in.  One way to do that is by coaching.  During registration, you can let us know if you are interested in being a coach and if there is anyone that you would like to coach with.  We will attempt to accommodate as many folks as possible in their selections.  Please note, however, that there will only be two coaches per team assigned to avoid overloading any particular team.  For those folks that desire to have addition assistants, those children need to be drafted. 

2) Draft - Following the completion of registration in mid summer, we will then organize all of the leagues and coaching staffs and advise them accordingly on who the coach pairings will be.  After coach pairings are finalized, a draft will be held for each league whereby one or both of the assigned coaches will need to attend to make their selections.  This will llikely be in mid to late July.  Depending on the league that you are coaching, an open or closed draft will be held to decide final teams for the season.  Each leagues coordinator will run their draft following pre-established draft rules.  The rules established will be following by each league to avoid inconsistency and fairness across all leagues.

3) Eligibility - For your child to be eligible to play in our league, they must register for the league in which they qualify based on the grade that they will be playing.  There will not be "play ups" or "play downs" unless reviewed and approved by the committee on a case by case basis.  Further, every child registered must be either a resident of moorestown or attend a moorestown school.  Children from outside moorestown are not eligible and children younger than first grade are not eligible based on the enrollment expected.

4) Jersey Sizing - We have provided expected sizes for this year's jerseys based on manufacturer's standard production sizes.  We have also ordered every size jersey in the event select parents would like to try one on for sizing.  When you sign up, please use the sizing chart.  We plan to remeasure the samples received to assure compliance with those sizes.  We believe that the child sizes shown on the chart might be a little larger and that actual jerseys may be alittle smaller so please order your jerseys assuming the low side or even an inch less than those shown.  Also remember it is only May and your child may grow.  We will not be able to order replacement jerseys based on size due to timelines so plus try to size your jerseys correctly.

Parents/Kids,

Its that time of year again!  Moorestown Flag Football registration begins on May 13, 2009 and continues through June 15, 2009 with possible late registration thereafter.  This year's committee has been working hard getting things ready to go and we look forward to having another record year in participation.  We have also tryed very hard to keep costs affordable given the current economic climate while still yielding a high level of quality.  Recent efforts have included working with the township on field improvements, development of fun team jerseys, and updates to our team supplies. 

There is still a ton of work to go and the league can really use your support, both financially and time wise going forward.  You may not be aware that the Flag football committee basically represents only a small handfull of dedicated volunteers that have tryed to carry on the great efforts of past committee members for over 800 participants inclusive of referees.  As such, we still need volunteers for select positions, particularly coordinator spots (see contact list for openings) in certain age groups.  If interested, please email me ASAP.

When registering this year for the program, please review the updated FAQ section of this web site for proposed practice and game slots prior to signing up.  We have posted them early so parents can make informed decisions about other activities and their committments to eliminate the need for future conflicts to the degree possible.  Other key components of registration include the following:

- If interested, you can sign up for coaching and/or assistant coaching using the site process

- Selection of a team jersey size for your child.  A sizing chart will be posted so that you can measure your child to avoid problems with ordering incorrect sizes.  We will also have samples of every size available in the coming weeks for folks to try on if they so desire

- Sign up for sponsorship opportunities to help our league continue to grow and gain recognition for your charitable efforts

The league is open to boys and girls in Grades 1-12.  Due to the size of the league, in order to sign up, you must be a resident of Moorestown or attend a Moorestown school to be eligible during the time that the fall league is played.  Because of the popularity of the league, space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis for each division.

When registering this year for flag, please refer to the below sizing for team jerseys that will be issued to all kids playing in 2009.  We are providing this sizing information to attempt to minimize problems with Jerseys not fitting correctly come the fall.  Remember, you are sizing your child for this fall, not this month.  Many kids may grow quite a bit over the summer and if you plan to have lots of great barbeques, you may want to pick something a little bigger. 

To further assist parents, we are also obtaining samples of every jersey size from the manufacturer for those that would like to try one on their child.  We will make them available at upcoming events (e.g. upcoming committee meetings) to determine if you need to change the size you have signed up for.  Due to time constraints and the start of the season, jerseys will be ordered shortly after registration closes to get them printed in time for the start of the season.  We will not have time to reorder incorrect jersey sizes.  The sizing info that has been provided to us is as follows:

YM      32-34
YL       36-38
YXL     40-42

Adult Chest Sizes

AS      32-34
AM      38-40
AL       42-44
AXL    46-48
